Welcome to Cattle Country Quilt Shop, located in Joseph, Oregon, a beautiful town of only 1,054 residents nestled at the base of the spectacular Wallowa Mountains.
We specialize in gorgeous batik, western (wow are they awesome), outstanding floral and landscape fabrics. Our fabrics are the best quality, 100% cotton quilting fabrics including Moda, Timeless Treasures, Alexander Henry, Michael Miller, Maywood Studios, Robert Kaufman, Clothworks, Blank Textiles, Diamond Textiles, Kona Bay, Seattle Bay, Windham Fabrics, Hoffman, and more. We are continually adding fabric lines from which we offer many of our quilt kits.
And speaking of kits, we specialize in patterns by June Jaeger of Log Cabin Quiltworks and by Colleen Blackwood, of Laughing Lizzie’s Patterns. Our kits are cherished by quilters that love distinctive patterns and fabrics, and often reflect the outdoor lifestyle of the inland Pacific Northwest.
Our shop was founded in a tiny building on a side-street, just off Main here in Joseph. Shortly, we outgrew our original location and in 2007, moved to a larger, brighter shop within the Heritage Mall Plaza at 203 N. Main Street. Cattle Country is owned by three friends, Traci Frye and Susan Coppin, both registered nurses, and Cassandra Botts, a self-described “plain person,” that retired a few years ago after a career in public relations. All three are proud of their ranching origins thus named their quilt shop, Cattle Country Quilts, to reflect their childhood experiences.
In Joseph, Oregon, the western life-style continues. Cattle, horses, and other livestock are abundant; cowboys and cowgirls reign supreme, and the scenery of northeastern Oregon is truly unsurpassed.
